The Pearson Diversity Summer
Internship Programme closing date was March 31 2008.

The closing date for 2008 applications to the Pearson Diversity Summer Internship Programme is March 31st 2008.

Each year between July and September, Pearson offer two types of internships to bright and talented final year students and graduates from ethnic minority backgrounds in one of their world-leading businesses:
Penguin Books,The Financial Times, Edexcel and Pearson Education.

There is a chance to do either a Business Internship, which lasts for six weeks or a Journalism Internship, which last for twelve weeks. A training allowance of £1,100 a month during the internship is offered alongside a generous holiday allowance and a full training and development programme.

There are placements in marketing, publicity, editorial, sales, finance, human resources and production. You could spend your summer researching and writing about the latest financial news for The Financial Times, be involved in designing the cover for the latest Booker prizewinning Penguin novel or planning a marketing campaign for textbooks read by millions of students.

During your time at Pearson, you will gain experience working for one of the world's leading businesses and valuable skills for a career in the media and publishing industry. This is a great 'foot in the door' to a career in media, publishing and education.

If you have an interest in media, education and publishing and the internship sounds like something you'd like to do, applying is really simple.

For Business Internships send a CV and covering letter to internships@pearson.com.

For Journalism Internships send a CV and covering letter, along with an original piece of journalism, not longer than 700 words, to internships@pearson.com.

Your article should demonstrate an awareness of what makes a good 'FT' story.
