The PRECIOUS Awards was founded to celebrate the achievements of inspirational entrepreneurial women of colour who are running businesses in the UK. The Awards are about recognising success and inspiring other women of colour to launch their own business.

We also recognise women in the workplace with the PRECIOUS Leadership within the Workplace Award. We are proud to applaud and highlight enterprise and innovation amongst some of the brightest stars contributing to UK plc.

"Disturbingly, the government have announced dramatic public spending cuts. As well as significant job cuts, we will see the closure of libraries, police stations, museums, sports centres. I suggest this might be the trickiest proposal.

There appears to be a lack of balance in this budget. Those with middle incomes seem to be struck the hardest,while those at the lowest end of the pay scale remain protected, yet those with higher incomes remain unscathed.

However, if you consider the fact that the majority of public spending in the past tended to be ‘pro-poor’, cuts to public spending will naturally affect those with lower incomes to a greater degree."
